Important Update for Crew: Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Clarifies Crew Mail Room Policy in Miami
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has issued a detailed reminder for all crew members regarding the proper handling and addressing of personal mail and packages sent to the Miami Crew Mail Room. To ensure timely delivery and avoid refusals, crew are urged to follow specific guidelines on packaging, labeling, and item restrictions.
Correct Address Format Required
All packages and letters must be clearly labeled and addressed to:
NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE HOLDINGS
Failure to use the correct format or to stay within specified dimensions will result in a “Warning” label being attached to the parcel, identifying the issue. Repeated violations may lead to future packages being refused and returned to sender.
Size Limits Strictly Enforced
Crew mail packages must not exceed the following dimensions:
Length: 35 inches
Width: 20 inches
Height: 20 inches
Items that surpass these limits will not be accepted.
Delivery Timelines to Expect
Crew are advised to factor in delivery times when sending or expecting mail to ensure they are still onboard when the package arrives. Once items are received by the Crew Mail Room, the estimated onboard delivery times are as follows:
Envelopes: 2 weeks
Packages to U.S. Ports: 3 weeks
Packages to Non-U.S. Ports: 8 weeks
Liability Limit & High-Value Items
NCLH reminds team members that the company’s liability limit per personal package is USD $100. It is strongly recommended that any item exceeding this value not be sent through the company mail system.
Prohibited Items & Food Policy
The following items will not be accepted and will either be discarded or returned to the sender:
All types of food – prepared, unprepared, perishable, or non-perishable
Oversized or heavy items, including:
Televisions
Tents
Car or motorcycle parts or tires
Any items listed in SMS/SEC/APPENDIX A (the company’s prohibited item list)
Authorizing Mail Pick-Up
Crew members who sign off and expect mail afterward can authorize another crew member to collect their items by completing a form in advance at the HR Office with the Crew Enrichment Admin.
Crew are encouraged to double-check shipping details and follow all instructions to avoid unnecessary delays or complications. These measures are in place to ensure smooth, secure, and timely delivery of personal items onboard.
