Congrats to Icon of the Seas crew for passing the USPH inspection!
On 16 Nov 2024 Royal Caribbean Icon of the Seas at Port Miami successfully completed the USPH inspection. We like to share our gratitude for an amazing score of 96 in USPH, the 5 inspectors was so complimentary of our crew knowledge and how they were greeted in each areas, it was so impressive to them.
 
On December 3, 2024 United States Public Health Inspectors boarded the Marella Discovery while the cruise ship was in San Juan. The ship passed USPH inspection with 94%.

We received this message from a crewmember:
hi just want to say that we are very proud as Crew that our Marella Discovery was been passed again the USPH with the score of 94%. inspection was been conducted in San Juan. Please hide my identity
Just 10mins ago we get the score inspection still onboard however we made it to passed hard work and dedication was worth it

On December 7, 2024 United States Public Health Inspectors boarded the Nieuw Statendam while the cruise ship was in Fort Lauderdale, Port Everglades, Florida. The ship passed USPH inspection with a perfect socre.

We received this message and photo from a crewmember:
Ms Nieuw Statendam just had usph onboard today, and we got 100%

I was on board when this happened and I remember having to stay and not going on break so I was on duty from 5am to 3pm, no break, no food, nothing. We passed with a good score and I did got paid back those hours a few weeks later but I remember being so upset because I didn't go on break when scheduled because the supervisors asked me to stay and it was because many people started saying "i don't know anything about usph, so if I stay we fail I better go back to my cabin" and I was like "wtf???" So several of us suffered because some employees didn't wanted to do their job that day, even though they actually KNEW their usph and where even trained for specifically for inspection

    The salary of Cook Teppanyaki in Norwegian Cruise Line is only $1,200 a month ( lowest in all cruise line)and they are just getting extra from the tips that are given to them directly by some guest ( if the guest leave their tip on the table that is for the waiters only)and they are also getting extra from charge tip which is divided amongst 15 Cook Teppanyaki.
